Christmas Post Cards

Christmas is always a great time to connect with others in person and if you can't see them in person it is great to send images. Printed images are great, they make us feel closer to those love ones we are unable to see. Christmas is a time to be thankful for loved ones near and far. This was one of the Christmas post card designs my friend, John Nelson designed.

Creative Photo Advertising Idea

I came across this advertisement when shopping online at Bergdorf Goodman. I thought it was a very different yet surprisingly creative. A fresh look at kids clothing with some artwork behind it. I hope you enjoy the two that caught my eye.

Creative baby toys & mobiles

A dear friend purchased the wimmer-ferguson infant stim-mobile for our infant. As soon as we put it in his crib he loved it. He danced for it, cooed loudly for it, smiling at it in between cooing. So, in our opinion it is great and we recommend it. We had he same experience with Lamaze Freddie the Firefly, that my brother & sister in law got him. I have seen them both on http://www.amazon.com Yesterday I cam across yet another place to get great toys and mobiles for babies at http://www.blablakids.com/ Then I feel in love with a bunch of things on their website. Everything in the Bla Bla line is made in Peru, as the materials are grown there as well.

Using a ladder from above

Here is a shot my husband took of us from above. He shot us from a ladder, while we were laying in our guest bed. The lighting used was a kino-flo. It is a daylight based light source. We purchased this piece of equipment a while ago from B & H for photo shoots. As you can see, I am in heaven with my baby boy!

Cannon G-10 with window light

After 2 miscarriages, 2 cyst surgeries on my ovary God blessed us with our baby boy. He was born shortly before the 4th of July 2010. He has been a delightful and easy infant. While recovering from labor, I of course wanted to take some pictures of our little blessing but using our our heavy professional cameras did not entice me. I grabbed our Cannon G-10, point & shoot camera to take some snapshots. I put a flag handkerchief on the bed, put the baby on top of it and shot the baby from above. The simple image is shot with window light, the light was coming from the left. You can do this with any favorite piece of material or blanket. Window lighting is great and easy to work with since you can see what you are getting. The newer model of our point & shoot camera is out now at Cosco for $300, the Cannon G-11. This camera does nice small video clips as well.

Almost 10 months pregnant

At 41 weeks pregnant my husband took some images of me on our roof-top. My stomach had gotten so large we figured we must document this body change. I could barely get around at the time, so uncomfortable. It was really hot outside. My husband was laughing since I brought my Mui Mui purse up there for the shoot. Overall the Polariod camera and the Mui Mui bag add to the stying of the photo. I look back at it now and can't believe I was ever so large! My son Gabriel was born a few days later weighing 9.5 lbs and was 21 inches long!

28 Weeks Pregnant - Housing Works Vintage find.

At 28 Weeks my husband photographed me in my Chip & Pepper jeans that I bought at Housing Works. Housing Works is an awesome place to shop. There are about 7 shops all over New York City. The jeans are not pregnancy jeans but a few sizes larger than my normal size, so they worked well for my pregnancy. Housing Works is the largest community-based AIDS service organization in the United States, as well as the nation’s largest minority-controlled AIDS service organization.

I am not a big fan of pregnancy images of myself but looking back now, I am very glad I did take some images of the body changes! Wow, how amazing to see a life form in myself or anyone.
