Malibu Makos

I was attracted to these trucks due to the art work and the colors. They are parked across from Trancas Market in Malibu. The images were taken with my point and shoot, the Cannon G-10. I find using a cheaper camera much less stressful for snapshots. I am free to roam and not worry about my expensive camera getting stolen, since it is not with me. My Cannon 5-D Mark II is much heavier, so that is another reason to carry a lighter less expensive camera when you aren't getting paid to shoot.

Santa Cruz, CA

This was an effect that occurred when the Cannon G-10 door to the auto lens was jammed.

Santa Cruz is a bright and colorful place. There is tons of sun, kids and pay parking. My favorite thing was watching the Santa Cruz junior lifeguard camp. So captivating watching the kids run and swim out in the slightly rough water. The Peter Pan Hotel, in the last image was handing out free books about Christ. Campus Crusade for Christ was staying at the Peter Pan Hotel the day we walked by. Great to see people out there spreading the good news and truth of Christ.

Images from a moving car along the California Coast

Big Sur

When trying to cover a lot of territory in 18 days, shooting from the car was sometimes my technic for getting the shot. These images were shot with the Cannon G-10, along the coast of CA. The colors still came out vibrant and you can barely tell that we were in a moving car. Not my favorite way to shoot at all, but something to try and see your results.

Petaluma, California, not a place to overlook.

While touring the California coast we stopped in Petaluma. My aunt & uncle have three houses there and we visited them there. Petaluma is a wealth of history. It is a small town with a lot of charm. It has beautiful well maintained historic homes as well as a beautiful downtown area that many cities lack. The town, full of farming and hard working people is positioned 40 minutes from San Francisco, 30 minutes from Sonoma, and 30 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. It is a great town to visit and we can imagine that it is a highly desired area to live in, your very own green acres. Petaluma is a fun town not to be overlooked.

Napa Valley, California

Napa Valley is a quaint place to visit. The landscape there is beautiful, a place where grapes flourish. I enjoyed the historic homes in the small town. It was hot in July and we walked around to find post cards then stamps. $1.25 was the price of the cheapest post card. I enjoy postcards, sending them and collecting them, so I paid the price for the beautiful post cards of the wine country.

I finally set up a blog and while setting it up I came across some film that I shot while in photography school. It is of my beautiful nephew, Isaiah. The photographs were taken in my mother's house. The window lighting is perfect to capture such a beautiful and small subject.
